Welcome to TalesoftheCork. The vision of this blog is simple: 1) Introduce followers to inspiring stories as told by chefs, wine makers, sommeliers, and wine merchants in California, France and Italy. These tales are not meant to boast of their accomplishments but to share behind-the-scenes accounts of their journeys, both struggles and triumphs. 2) To provide travel tips, plans and opportunities for culinary food and wine adventures from California, including the Central Coast (Paso Robles to Santa Barbara), France and Italy. 3) To investigate, taste and review wines from California, Oregon, Italy and France, passing along my findings to those who follow.

At first, I will update the blog with monthly posts. The vision is to move this to a two-times per week communication in the months to come. Future plans are to include Oregon wines and gastronome as well as expanding into other regions of France. TalesoftheCork also welcomes comments, emails, tweets and suggestions for future stories and culinary adventures. I have been a journalism adviser and an educational tour guide to England, France, Italy and New York City for years. But as I travel across Europe and the U.S., I am less consumed with repeat visits to tourist sites and more with those who make the region their home.

Over the last 25 years, I have organized and led wine and food trips to France and Italy as well as to destinations in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles.

Relationships with the people who create culture are at the heart of my vision as I partner with wine and food connoisseurs. I love bringing the creators and those who desire to participate together. Join me as I personally create wine and food pairings and help others do the same.
